New mix "West Side Summer"

A brand new mix that is not a radio show is available for download in the current mixes page. I wasn't planning on recording a new mix but this one kind of just happened. Sandra's new single is doing great, the WCC might start a new residency night on the West Side, and my VFX business is cranking out the jobs even in these hard economic times. Basically I don't have much to complaint about and I'm happy, so when I'm happy I like to jump on the decks and the result is this summer mix. I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to rate it.

Solo Casa - WCC night

Sunday July 27th starting at 8pm the West Coast Collective invades Santa Monica with an exciting night of soulful beats less than a mile from the Pacific ocean. We are having a special party for our friend David Barton who is going back to Manchester, England but not before he gets to drop some tunes with the WCC. Also on the decks will be Soulsessions' Sal Antaloss straight out of the Netherlands. The whole event takes place at Main, a new club right in the middle of Santa Monica's trendy Main Street. If this night goes well there is a very good chance that the WCC will turn this into a regular monthly or bi-monthly thing. Please come join us while we do it west coast style on the west side of LA. This event has no cover charge.
Sandra's single climbing up the charts

Sandra single "Higher" is doing really great in the different digital download charts. The EP came out July 10th and it has reached #12 on Traxsource, #8 on Juno in the Funky House genre, and #7 (Jay-J's dub), #12 (original), and #14 (Jay-J's remix) on Stompy's soul genre. All of these charts are out of the 100 top tracks from each respective site. The second remix package has gone out as a promo to some of the jocks and radio stations and will be available in early august. This package includes mixes by Justin Michael of Hermosa Recordings, Torin Rea of the West Coast Collective and additional remixes by Jon Silva of Pesto Music. Ricardo Live @ BALANCE tonight

Tonight I have to pleasure to open up for Joshua Heath (Salted Music) at Los Angeles' hot spot for house on a Saturday night, BALANCE. If you've never seen Joshua throw it down do yourself a favor and come check him out. He is an incredibly talented DJ and producer. This is the guy that Miguel Migs like to go check out and play.
I'm playing from 10:30 til 12:30 or so and then Joshua goes on til 4. If you are in the LA area I hope to see you on the dance floor tonight.

With huge support from House jocks, radio stations and tastemakers all over, Pesto was able to place this massive summer tune on a couple of upcoming compilations already. Raisani Miami Sessions (Dubai), Ibiza Global Radio, Open Bar (NYC) and Clubstar (Germany) - they all had a reason to put "Higher" in their mixes. Finally, Sandra Lima's debut on Pesto is happening and here are six reasons to look forward to the outdoor season: DeepHouse icon Jay-J contributes two smashing mixes, Jon Silva adds some mid-90ies flavour and The Mulder is pleasing us with his top-notch DeepTech sound. WCC RADIO Episode 006 is posted - Amsterdam maybe.
WCC RADIO EP006 (June 2008) is now ready for download. If this episode had a name I would have called it "Bass". The first half of the show as some wicked deep house bass-lines that just make you nod your head and raises your level of being cool by ten. I also did a live edit of Doobie J's "Cant Stay Away" vs Andre Harris' "10 things Not To Say To a DJ" and it turned out pretty good. I had some people asked me where I got that remix. Sometimes 2 tracks are just meant to go together.
This episode is a week earlier than schedule and that is because next week I will be in Europe for a few days. I will be in Cannes, France from the 28th of April to the 3rd of June for a friend's wedding. Then I'm off to Amsterdam for a few days. Officially I'm not going to gig but I might make a surprise stop to one of the SoulSessions night over there. I always have my music with me. If something is confirm I will post it on the blog and send an email out to let people know. Sandra's "Higher" availble on Raisani Compilation

Sandra's new track "Higher" is getting a pre-release on the Raisani Miami Sessions 08 compilation. This is the Jay-J dub which is a peak time stomper. For the full vocal mix plus the other remixes you will have to wait until the end of this month for the full release on Pesto Music. For now you can purchase the dub on Traxsource. Higher is track #5 of the compilation. You can also preview the full track on Sandra's MySpace page.
